Optional Legal Plans

Optional protection for an uncommon — but real — scenario.

Most SafePath clients complete their program without ever needing legal representation. For the situations where a creditor does pursue legal action, optional legal plans exist to help.

What It Is

Access to attorney assistance through an affiliated provider.

A legal plan is a separate, optional service offered through independent, affiliated legal plan providers — not by SafePath directly. It's designed to give enrolled clients a way to access attorney consultation and representation if a creditor initiates legal action on an enrolled debt.

Enrollment in a legal plan is entirely your choice. It's priced and administered by the third-party provider under its own terms, which are disclosed to you separately before you opt in.

Plainly stated

Some creditors may pursue legal action while a consumer is enrolled in a debt settlement program. Without legal protection, a consumer facing that situation would typically need to find and hire an attorney independently. SafePath's optional legal plans, offered through affiliated providers, may help eligible clients access legal assistance during their program — but this is one option among several, not a requirement.

Who It May Help

Situations where a legal plan is most relevant.

Larger enrolled balances

Clients with several higher-balance accounts, where a creditor lawsuit is statistically more likely during the savings period.

Frequent creditor contact

Clients already receiving persistent calls or letters referencing potential legal action from a creditor or collector.

Preference for peace of mind

Clients who simply want a plan in place in advance, rather than searching for representation reactively if legal action occurs.
